this was a simple desert i made a few weeks back that spelled out the season. it was such a simple treat to have, and only took a few minutes and no recipe to make. i sliced 2 peaches in half, and sprinkled each half with a mixture of the following:
1/2 cup finely chopped almonds
3 tbsp brown sugar
2 tbsp maple syrup
pinch of cinnamon
small dash of salt
i made a crumble of sorts out of this, and spread it onto the cut halves of the peaches, then stuck them under the broiler for 2 minutes.
when they came out, the tops were all crunchy and crispy and warm. the peaches were slightly warm with an extra sweet juice. this was an amazing desert. -one that inspires me to “wing it” more often with food.
